~Hope You Guess My Name~

I have no respect for justice. I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives. I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am quoted, the more I am believed. I flourish at every level of society. My victims are helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no face. To track me down is impossible. The harder you try, the more elusive I become. I am nobody’s friend. Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same. I topple governments, wreck marriages, and ruin careers, cause sleepless nights, heartaches, and indigestion. I spawn suspicion and generate grief. I make innocent people cry in their pillows. Even my name hisses. I make headlines and headaches. Who am I???? My name is Gossip. Before you repeat a story, ask yourself, is it true? Is it fair? Is it necessary? (author unknown)

Leviticus 19:16 You shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.

Proverbs 20:19 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets;    Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.

Proverbs 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.

~Character~ (poem)

You must maintain your strength of character

to make right choices in life,

For tests will come when you least expect it

to tempt you to get into strife.

When troubles arise and choices get tough,

decisions are made on the spot.

Surely you’ll see when it comes to character

it is better to have it than not.

Strength of character is not just an item

that can be purchased right off the shelf.

It comes from years of doing what is right

and constantly dying to self.

Our example for character is the Lord Jesus Christ

our life should model His

For you cannot study for a test of character,

it will show up as a pop quiz.

How God’s Love Works With Your Faith

Your ability to live and operate by faith, is in direct proportion to your revelation of the Love of God.

1 John 4:19 ~ We love Him because He first loved us.

Concerning faith, we must believe first before we receive. Our ability to believe and receive by faith is tied to how much Love we have for God.

Some people have a real problem receiving anything from God, while some receive virtually everything they pray, and believe for. I have never been able to answer the question; “Why?” until the Lord revealed to me a powerful truth about His Love.

We are all probably familiar with this passage:

Galatians 5:6 ~ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth
any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

I have been taught that if you want to have strong faith then you must have a strong love walk. And that is true, but what does a strong love walk look like? You can learn about love, read books on how to express love, try to love more or love better, but all those efforts are vain if don’t know how to RECEIVE love. This is tied directly your understanding of how much He loves you.

If you judge God’s love for you on the basis of how you are performing, you will never be able to receive His unconditional love.

Receiving love always comes before giving love. God set it up this way. Your ability to receive things by faith is in exact proportion to your ability to receive God’s love.

Romans 5:5  says: “the love of God is poured out in your hearts by the Holy Spirit…” but you must learn to receive that love before you can enjoy it or give it away. It is the same with healing; 1 Peter 2:24  says: “By His stripes you WERE healed.” Past tense! But you will NOT enjoy healing UNLESS you RECEIVE it.

Do you see the correlation? Healing is an expression of His love for you. To receive healing is to receive His Love. If you can’t receive His love, you cannot receive His healing. It is not a faith issue, it is a love issue. This works the same for peace, prosperity and every other promise in the bible. His promises to us are expressions of His love for us. We MUST receive His love if we are to receive His promises.

Folks tend to get stuck in condemnation and a twisted, self-inflicted torment. Thinking that God is upset with them and is withholding from them because of their poor performance. That is such a lie of the enemy. The Devil wants to erode your self-image to the point that you see yourself as a worthless piece of wasted flesh with no value what so ever.

Remember that the value of a thing can only be determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it. God loved you so much that he paid the highest price imaginable for you.

You have been BOUGHT OUT by the blood of Christ, so don’t beat yourself up because you are not sold out to Him.

Know that you are always God’s Priority, not His option.

We serve a good God! A loving God! I see now how faith and love work together. I am clear why faith works by love and this is what the Lord said to me:

“I have commanded you to love Me with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength. (Mark 12:30) Understand that this is the same way I love all my people … with all My heart, all My mind, all My soul and ALL My strength. Your ability to receive anything from Me hinges on your ability to believe and receive the love I have for you.”

If you have a problem expressing love, then you need to receive HIS love for you. If you have a problem receiving things by faith, then you need to receive HIS love for you.

Don’t measure and judge God’s love for you on your limited experience with it. Even an earthly parent’s love pales in comparison to His great love for you.

Now we can better understand Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3.

Ephesians 3:17-19 ~ that Christ may dwell in your hearts through
faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

To be filled with all the fullness of God, you must receive the fullness of His Love.

Blessings to all,

~ Jack ~

~ Prophetic Ministry ~

One of the big mistakes that the church has made over the last century is to devalue the prophetic ministry. That grace and gift from the Lord is necessary for the maturing and perfecting of the saints. Without exposure to prophetic and apostolic ministry believers become deficient in the “experience” of the gospel. Churches have focused on the evangelist, pastor and teacher and have become learning centers that have all the fluff and show of Christianity but deny the power that MUST be present to grow a strong mature people.

We must allow for the development of young prophets and give them room to grow and make mistakes within our midst . The leadership must encourage and nurture these individuals and provide them with sound council and accountability while assuring them a safe place to grow and develop.

Face it; prophetically gifted people tend to be different. They are going to be misunderstood and even avoided because they operate on a slightly different wavelength and to fit into a local church setting can be one of the most challenging of all tests for them. Few understand them, and therefore, few will trust them. If they can remain faithful and endure the misunderstandings and rejection while growing in love their maturity will fashion them into vessels of great use to the Lord. Those who separate themselves because of the rejection rarely have a fruitful ministry and often will go on to be used more by the enemy than the Lord, bringing division and destruction to the body.

Few pastors or church leaders are able to recognize true prophetic gifts and callings when they are still immature. The main reason is that a lot of Christians claim to be “prophets” when in reality, they wouldn’t know a prophet if he came down the street with a red hat on. Most pastors and church leaders have been hurt and burned by those who claim to be prophets more than they have been helped by them, so they are understandably hesitant to embrace anyone who claims to be a prophet. Even so, the prophets need the church, and the church needs the prophets just as much.

Pastors should learn to recognize a prophetic grace or gifting in a young Christian and help them discover their purpose and how they fit in the body. For the most part, church leadership has failed to distinguish between the grace, the gift, the calling and the commissioning. As we see in the Book of Acts, Paul was called as an apostle many years before he was commissioned to that ministry. As far as we can tell, between Paul’s calling and his commissioning range between eight and fourteen years. It is clear in Acts and from Paul’s letters that this time was spent in preparation, and that during this time, he ministered as a prophet and a teacher.

If you are wondering whether you have been commissioned yet, then you haven’t. When the real thing happens, it will be clear, and you will know that it came from God and not just men. Until then, we are in training, and the more significant your calling is, the more intense and usually longer and harder your training will be.

As one who is prophetically gifted I have had to learn a lot of this the hard way. Being different and having no mentor early on, I made a ton of mistakes. Not understanding why I do the things I do led me to model another prophet that I respected and was respected by my entire denomination. This was a huge mistake and brought serious correction from the Lord. Each prophet in Scripture was unique.  God uses that uniqueness to relate to all of His people in a personal way. For this reason, we should never copy anyone else. We can learn from others, but must focus on the Lord, beholding His glory and being changed into His image, if we are to become who WE are created to be.

~Healing Scriptures and Faith Confessions~
