The Mystery of the Golden Censer.

This is a follow up post to The Seventh Trumpet revealed in detail.   The Lord continues to give me details about near future events. Many of which I do not understand yet. The themes that are constant with all these encounters is the need for humility in the Body of Christ, the urgency to prepare for great tribulation, and a changed perspective on God Himself.

We are far too familiar with a God we barely know. The revelation of Jesus Christ to the world is at hand and no one is ready for what is coming. Truthfully, no one will be. The mystery of the gospel is being revealed in all its manifold glory and we are privileged to participate.

I have been seeing glimpses in my spirit of a huge being with what looked like a big bowling ball hanging from a thick short chain. He held the chain a few links from the end in his left hand at about waist level. With his right hand he held up the big ball and was swinging it back and forth. Thick billowing smoke poured off the big ball as he swung it. This image kept bugging me for days. I would see it but it was like looking through some filter that made things blurry and nondescript. Then I was reading over Revelation again and got to Chapter 8:3

Revelation 8:3

And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.

As soon as I read this the Lord gave me understanding that it was this angel I was seeing. I then got a clearer glimpse at this angel, like the filter was off, and he is a big fella! He was thick and wide, heavily muscled, and barefoot. For some reason I noticed he didn’t have a belly button either. As soon as I thought that, I understood that a bellybutton is the mark of the son of man.

He was dressed only with something around his waist that fell to about mid-thigh. The ball and chain I was seeing was the golden censer. I couldn’t see that it was gold or that it had a hole at the top because of all the smoke pouring off it.

The angel was standing before the alter and would leave and return. When he returned, he would hold up the smoking censer and the Father would smell it.

Somehow, I knew that the censer was for specific prayers for the last great outpouring as we call it. Heaven calls it something else, but I have yet to discern what that is. The censer had to be filled until it gave off a specific aroma. Not sure yet what that smell is that God is looking for, but the smell has a name as well. Not sure what that is yet either. He keeps smelling it, testing it, like a chef would taste a dish to see if it is just right. This is what is happening now, as I write this. Then I saw the future.

God smelled the censer and it was pleasing to Him. He gave the angel a command. The angel stepped up to the alter and dragged the golden censer through the fiery coals on the alter. The censer was now on fire and was no longer smoking. It looked like it was dripping with Lava. With one big swing the angel slung that censer at the earth. When it hit, it exploded into a multitude of little balls of fire that covered the earth. Then the Lord showed me what this means.

The little fire balls from the exploded censer are specific anointings or mantles. This is not an outpouring of the Spirit as we would understand it and it is not like any “move of God” previously known. These mantles are specifically for the equipping of the Elect. These mantles are the lavish gifts that He pours out on the bride just before she meets the Bridegroom.

There will be so many of these mantles on the earth that not even half of them will be used or even needed. It is just more of God’s extravagant love poured out for us. Many will pick up a mantle, use it for the purpose God intended, then pick up another. Some will carry many mantles. Each time a person carries a mantle the mystery of the gospel becomes clearer to them. The fire from these mantles reveals the mystery, much like he is doing with prophets right now only much clearer and more precise.

All these prayers in the censer are being prayed the best we know how as we are shrouded in smoke. The smoke (mystery) keeps getting thicker and deeper, effective prayer gets less and less, and yet with His help we somehow manage to successfully invite Him to His own Son’s wedding. He keeps smelling the invitation (censer) until it has the aroma He likes and then He “RSVP’s” with the mantles. I laughed out loud and cried for joy when He showed me this.

You have heard the expression, “where there is smoke there is fire?” The Lord showed me that much smoke means the fire is going out, (much mystery) He reminded me of Isaiah 42

“A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

Just like I couldn’t tell what the great ball and chain was because of the smoke, the church can’t tell who she is because the fire is going out and the gospel has been shrouded in mystery because of a self-serving gospel. We have all been guilty to some degree. I promise you.

The church is almost completely unaware of her blindness, but the lights are getting ready to come on!

One of the constant themes that keeps getting emphasized to me is that none of us understand but a little piece of this great mystery. When God began revealing to me the errors in my beliefs and the doctrines that I was taught and defended for decades, I was so broken. I felt like I had been deceived, and I had. By my own heart. I saw the error, the arrogance in the church and in myself. I began to despise those that taught me and held them responsible for my twisted beliefs. It really turned my world upside down for a few weeks. I almost left the church, almost confronted pastor about it. God restrained me. I am so thankful. I was just being attacked by the enemy.

I now see that the one issue God was putting His finger on was my own pride. It is the unpardonable sin spoke of in Mathew 12. He has had his finger on that passage for years trying to get me to see. I couldn’t see for the smoke.

Unless pride is dealt with, we will not be able to function with kingdom authority on the earth and there will be no rewards for any accomplishments for the prideful at the judgement seat of Christ. This is what He meant when He said this sin will not be forgiven in this age or the age to come.

God actively works against pride, and no matter how glorious our accomplishments for the Kingdom, if we don’t sanctify Him during those accomplishments in the sight of people, we will be lightly esteemed in His sight. This is what happened to Moses. It prevented him from entering the promised land on earth. It’s what keeps us from entering the Kingdom of God. Oh, we are citizens of the Kingdom, but we must view it from afar.

When the Lord showed me the mystery of the seventh trumpet it hit me. All three doctrines, pre, mid, and post-trib positions are all wrong. I realized how prideful I was. I saw that man’s need to be “right” can make him miss righteousness by a country mile. I saw that when I am conscious of the failings and sins of others that there are things in my own heart that are not right. The smoke gets really thick! So thick that I can look into the mirror of God’s word and not be able to see myself clearly. Pride puts a smoke screen on the mystery of who we are in Christ.

We can no longer allow ourselves to stumble over what people are “not.” We must celebrate who God created them to be and teach them to embrace that reality. We can’t do it with finger pointing and blame shifting. Only loving God and people with our life and sharing the truth of who He is will set people free, and we can’t even do that unless He helps us with it.

It is our journey, but it is His work.

We must relinquish our right to say no to Him.

We must lay our God given sovereignty at His feet.

We can do nothing of ourselves.

The Mystery of the Seventh Trumpet.

I share this with trembling in my heart. I do not want to teach or speak anything contrary to sound doctrine. I believe this is the word of the Lord to the Body of Christ for this season. I have struggled with posting this.

I must admit it challenged my beliefs to the core. I pray that only His truth be revealed in this and not my ideas or agenda. Amen.

This is what He has revealed to me concerning the Seventh Trumpet. I will try to relate only the things He has specifically shown me or told me. Please read this prayerfully.

The seventh trumpet (the LAST trumpet) marks the beginning of the “Day of the Lord.” That Great Day is not a single day as we would understand it, how long it is I don’t know but our involvement on the earth is just under a year long after that trumpet starts to blow. Here is some of what I saw play out in the Spirit at that trumpet.

The Lord showed me that the Elect, in this context, are simply the ones chosen to be alive at this magnificent revelation of Jesus Christ. The Elect are the Church and the 144000 combined at the sounding of the Seventh Trumpet. Both groups of people have the high honor of going through the greatest tribulation the world has ever seen and shining through it all, bringing God great glory. It is one of the greatest honors ever given to a man and the entire Host of Heaven are wide eyed in anticipation of seeing this revelation of Jesus Christ play out.

The Word of the Lord came to me and said:

“The greatest outpouring of my Spirit the world has ever seen will only come with tribulation. If my people are not braced for what’s coming, they are far more likely to  mishandle the anointing and be crushed by the trials.”

We have been praying for revival and the outpouring of the Spirit as promised in scripture. This is what comes with it. The greater the tribulation, the greater the outpouring.

The purpose of the 144000 is specifically for God’s righteous judgment on Israel and on those that refuse to repent when the last trumpet blows. This trumpet blast lasts for a long, long time. We see in Revelation 10 that the trumpets blast lasts for “days.” It actually lasts for months from what I saw.

Revelation 10:7

but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.

The 144000 will be Jewish believers that deny Christ is the Messiah. They will sincerely love God, but not according to knowledge. In God’s great love and mercy, He takes them and marks them. They represent the original natural branches that were cut off so the gentiles could be grafted in. They will be grafted back into the olive root. This is God’s Remnant.

The 144000 will have one of the highest places in Heaven and they know it. They will understand mercy and grace like we never have, knowing that they had absolutely nothing to do with their salvation. The humility this revelation births in them is a beautiful thing to behold. They understand that the last shall be first, and they realize they are the last. Much of their time immediately after their conversion is spent in tears of Godly sorrow when they are not celebrating a new birth of one of the Remnant.

Once the last trumpet starts to blow, the Lord hardens all unbelievers like He did Pharaoh and immediately the demons on the earth will attach themselves to the hardened people. There will be no more “salvations” after that. Only the saving of the 144000, the gathering of His Remnant.

Just before the trumpet blast, God marks the 144000 on the forehead. This is not seen on their physical bodies. They are marked in the spirit realm where all demonic influence is acutely aware of who they are, and they don’t dare touch them. Demonized people will flee in terror when they get too close to one of the 144000 and at this time all are demonized. Crowds of demon possessed people watch in fear from a distance because the demons in them won’t let them get to close. The 144000 are perplexed at why this is happening. They don’t yet understand who they are because none of them have been saved yet.

The 144000 will be tormented in their faith by a few specific demons during the tribulation but will never be threatened with death. Satan somehow has a unique strategy for deceiving the 144000 and will attack their minds strongly. Their torment will continue until every last one of the 144000 confess Jesus as Lord. Through His name alone is the only way into Heaven and God can’t violate His word, chosen people or not.

I saw this process of convincing (saving) the 144000 Jews will take almost a year. They will suffer that extra year or so after the seventh trumpet (the LAST trumpet) starts to blow and the Church will suffer with them. The Elect will be “gold tried in the fire.” The 144000 will watch the Church be tried, tested, tortured, abused and killed while they are going through the process that I will describe now. Some of the greatest testimonies and some of God’s greatest glory will come from these last days Saints.

I saw the first man of the 144000 Jews believe in Jesus. I saw darkness flee. I saw the incredible burden of suffering lifted from him, the light in his eyes, the expression on his face. I could tell that he was completely free. Nothing could hurt him or move him off his belief. He finally found Truth. It was the greatest eye opening, Ah-ha! moment I have ever witnessed.

Then others of the 144000 began to see that he was free right in the midst of the great tribulation, and salvations increase rapidly. When the 144000 get converted, God immediately gives each individual the understanding to know exactly who they are in Bible prophecy.

Its hard for me to explain, but each individual of the 144000 has this incredible, spectacular experience of awakening to new life. Each conversion is a dramatic event to the individual and to all those who witness this born again experience. You can physically see darkness leave people and light flood in. The Church and the 144000 marvel at each and every conversion and watch with great anticipation as they witness each new birth. The hosts of Heaven, the great cloud of witnesses, all the angels echo the celebration with the energy and enthusiasm of God. Heaven and earth celebrate every conversion like its the greatest event in the history of man. Because in God’s eyes it is.

I sit here and weep at the the beauty of this, and the conviction of my own heart for taking salvation for granted. I watched my three sons being born and was privileged to experienced the crazy emotions, the anticipation, and the incredible joy of each birth. As great as those moments were, they pale in comparison to what I saw at the conversions of the 144000. Life is to be celebrated and we haven’t begun to learn that yet.

It will only take a few months from that first confession of Jesus to the final one of the 144000 to believe. The urgency of the 144000 is fueled by the revelation of who they are in Bible prophecy, combined with the anticipation of each individual conversion event. The Church will catch the revelation of who the 144000 are as well and help find the rest of the Remnant.

They begin to keep a head-count on these incredible salvations and this quickly becomes a hunt for the last man. They know that when the last of the 144000 is saved that God will come for His Church.

I saw many prominent ministers that are labeled “prosperity preachers” with multiple private jets. They will be a big part of the network that tracks down and finds the last of the 144000. They are a part of God’s end time plan. Somehow, God has this intricate infrastructure prepared that we are not even aware of yet. His strategies will become evident to all very soon. During the tribulation there will be this great, progressive unveiling of who God is to the world. I am talking about how He thinks, how He sees us, a revealing of His great love that will overwhelm. It will bring hope and strength to many that are weak.

As I write some of this the Lord revealed this passage to me. Jer 50:4“In those days and in that time, declares the Lord, the people of Israel and the people of Judah shall come together, weeping as they come, and they shall seek the Lord their God.

The Seventh Trumpet blast is a physically audible sound and continues for months, driving the demonized people mad. The Elect will recognize the trumpet for what it is. It will be a sound of hope to those who have the Spirit. It is the sound of that trumpet that strengthens the Church to walk through the fire. That long trumpet blast is actually an expression of God’s great mercy to the Bride of Christ so that she can strengthen herself to love not her own life unto death. This is the bride without spot or wrinkle that He is returning for.

It is God’s great love and mercy that started this. It will be His great Love and mercy that finishes it. We are here for His good pleasure and were made for that purpose.

The world will witness the 144000 loving and serving God and hate them for it but won’t be able to kill them because of the names on their foreheads. They will literally walk the earth like aliens that can’t be killed, and they will be seen as such by the hardened, demonized masses. Every negative thing that is happening on the planet will be blamed on the believers and the 144000.

I have seen a some of the terrible things we must face, but the more He shows me, the more excited I get. We can bring Him such great glory in these times, shining bright for His great name in the middle of tribulation. This is where faith shines the brightest. I now see how blessed we are to live in these times. It is such a high honor. I welcome it with anticipation.

The Church is in a time of correction. We must all judge ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to correct and adjust us so that we can become the bride without spot or wrinkle. It will take great faith to just remain the clay. Somehow I understand that even our great faith He is responsible for. We truly can do nothing but cooperate and yield to the great potter.

When Abraham sent his servant to find a bride for the child of promise, he showered her with gifts to prepare her to meet the bridegroom. Our Father is going to do the same thing with the bride of Christ. This is the great outpouring we’ve been praying for. It is these great gifts that the father will pour out on the church so that they shine their brightest in the darkest time in human history. The father will get great glory and there will be some of the greatest rewards in heaven given to those that overcome during this time. WE ARE BLESSED!!

There are three prevailing doctrines on the rapture and when it takes place. I believed in a Pre-Tribulation rapture for over 30 years. Not any more. God knocked that foolishness right out of me. He showed me how it was a doctrine of devils we have been deceived with to keep us from being prepared for what is coming.

The rapture won’t happen until the last of the 144000 confesses Jesus as Lord. This will happen about a year after the last trumpet starts to blow, about 4.5 years into the tribulation from what He has shown me. The instant the last of the Remnant believes in Jesus, we will be caught up together with Him in the twinkling of an eye. As we disappear the trumpet stops. This is what the Lord means when He said the days will be shorted for the Elects sake. The next 2.5 years or so the earth is in great darkness, awaiting the wrath of God. People think the tribulation is the wrath of God. It is not. It is the wrath of man and the wrath of the enemy. God’s wrath only lasts for a brief moment, and we are not appointed to that.

Satan’s final act of vengeance is to use the people left on earth to fight the final battle against the Lord, but that will be a quick fight. Faith has already won the victory.

The last Trumpet is exactly that. The LAST one. There will not be another.

These are some of the events that I saw transpire at the last trumpet. I believe God is preparing us for what is coming.

All experiences and revelations should be judged. Please seek the Lord for yourself on these things. I would not be sharing this unless I believed that He wanted me to. I do this with fear and trembling. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

This is our journey, but it is His work. The time is short. Let us cooperate with His final work.

God Loves a Mystery

To understand the mystery of the gospel, we need to understand that

God loves a mystery.

For us to embrace this thought we must realize that God does not always use His ability to see the future. He will always choose to lay aside His foreknowledge in favor of relationship.

Proverbs 25:2-4

It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.

It is the glory of God to create a mystery. Jesus Christ is the greatest of God’s mysteries and it is our great honor to search it out. But God does not ask us to do anything that He hasn’t or will not do Himself.

As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, so the heart of kings is unsearchable.

God purposely makes the kings heart, our heart, unsearchable. Even for Himself.

When we are born again, we are born of royalty. Within each of our hearts, God deposits His seed and creates a new mysterious being that never existed before. Within that incorruptible seed, are gifts and graces to help shape and develop you. God is excited about that! He has great expectation of seeing how that seed matures and expresses itself through our unique personalities.

While it is our glory to search out the mysteries of God. It is His glory to search out and discover the mystery of who we are in Him and watch it unfold in our lives. He loves the discovery process of our journey. He loves relationship.

He loves surprises. He loves watching the milestones of our growth and development and experiencing them with us. He loves every little step we take toward Him. He loves it when we choose life over death. He loves it when we run to Him for help. He loves it when we believe. HE LOVES US!

God is relational in His intent and purpose.

He prefers the joy of relationship over His ability to see our every move and choice.

The mystery of who we are is one of His greatest joys.

He loves a mystery.

Take away the dross from the silver, and the smith has material for a vessel;

Our Father is the smith, taking away the impurities, the iniquity, the sin. He loves removing the things that weaken us while searching our heart to find the treasures He has hidden there.

Our heart is revealed to Him through our words and actions. Faith is revealed in the same way. When our faith is tested our heart is revealed and He takes that faith and refines it. Therefore, faith pleases Him, and trials are important.

Hebrews 8:12

For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.

If God can choose to remember our sins no more, at the very least we must entertain the possibility that He could choose to not use His foreknowledge.

Jeremiah 17:9-10

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
10 “I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Why would God search, and test if He already knows the answer? Why did He ask Adam and Eve four questions in the garden? Why did He stop Abraham from sacrificing Isaac and make the comment,” Now I know?”

Because He didn’t know. He chose the mystery of relationship instead of using His ability to foresee what happens.

He loves walking through the trials, and the fires, the purging and the pruning, the testing, and the valleys. All to see the brightness of our rising, the perfecting of His vessel.

We are the glory of His great mystery. Vessels, being tested, shaped, and molded. We are no common vessels to be filled with common things, but vessels with a glorious purpose. To house the very presence of the Almighty God.

Understanding this truth helps us see God in a completely different light. It gives us a better understanding of the scriptures and gives us a better understanding of ourselves. It puts silly doctrines in their proper perspective so we can behold the truth of who He is.

Everything God does is relational in its intent. He desires to be involved with us in intimate relationship during our journey. It is our journey, but His work. We must humble ourselves to embrace His work and allow Him the honor of sanctifying our journey with His involvement.

The Unprofitable Prophet.

Jeremiah 23:29-32

Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? 30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who steal my words from one another. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who use their tongues and declare, ‘declares the Lord.’ 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, declares the Lord, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them. So they do not profit this people at all, declares the Lord.

In these last days we are witnessing an abundance of false prophets and false prophecies. Although false prophets are speaking things they declare is the Lord, we also have inexperienced prophets that have not learned how to properly steward God’s word, speaking words out of season with wrong interpretations of what God is saying to His church. Then we have true prophets that are hearing from God and speaking His word in season to help shape the culture of the church and prepare her for what is coming. However, even a true prophet can make a mistake or be deceived.

How are we to tell the difference? What can help us discern which voice to listen to? What is our responsibility as the hearer? What is our responsibility if we are a prophet?

First let me say, we have a responsibility to hear God for ourselves. There are few things more tragic than to name Jesus as Lord and never experience intimacy with the Father. This is available to all. This is the reason Christ came.

A terrible price was paid so God could get back inside us. He has given us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness. We can’t afford to blindly trust others to hear from God for us.

We must know our Fathers voice!

Pride and selfishness has corrupted the beauty and dulled the hearing of the Church. With itchy ears she runs about seeking the next word, the next teaching, the newest revelation, with no intention of walking any of it out. Carrying a head so burdened with unused knowledge that she doesn’t know what she believes or why she believes it.

We must turn to the Lord and lay everything we have and everything we are at His feet. Humility under the hand of Almighty God is our protection against the deception from false prophets and false prophecies. It is also protects us from giving false prophecies if we are a prophet.

Jeremiah 23:21-22

“I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in my council, then they would have proclaimed my words to my people and they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their deeds.

When we fail to stand in God’s council for ourselves we lack discernment and are easily deceived. It is His council we are after, not mans. The council of man is tainted with the fallen perspective of pride and selfishness.

Pride distorts and darkens.

Humility brings clarity and illumination making direction and timing clear. Intimacy is the answer to all the questions above.

Intimacy with God is primarily where transformation takes place. The Great Potter shapes us into His image as we pursue the mystery of who He is. If we will embrace this truth and give ourselves over to this process we leave no room for deception and discerning the truth becomes easy.

Preparing for Revival #6

Preparing for Revival #5

Your Unsearchable Heart

I am completely blown away by the things the Lord is showing me in this season. While reading Proverbs 25 the Lord began to confirm some things that He was showing me about how He thinks and how He loves. This is the passage He unvealed to me.

Proverbs 25:2-3

It is the glory of God to conceal things,
but the glory of kings is to search things out.
As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth,
so the heart of kings is unsearchable.

While meditating on this I thought to myself, “We are kings and priests unto our God.” (Rev. 1:6) I began to meditate on the fact that God has made our hearts unsearchable by men. Then I said out loud, “Our hearts are unsearchable by everyone but you Lord.”

He then spoke to me, “No Jack, I have purposely made your heart unsearchable by everyone, even Me.” I could hear joy in His voice when He said this. So much that joy got on me! I said, “Lord show me what you mean by this, I do not understand. I remember scripture that says you search the hearts and minds of men.” (Jer.17:10)

The Lord began to elaborate, “I have made you a sovereign being with a free will. When you choose Me and accept the sacrifice of My Son, I lay aside My foreknowledge in favor of unravelling the mystery of who you are in relationship. The moment you make Christ your Lord, you become this mysterious new creature. My offspring.

I have given you my written Word, My spoken Word, and My living Word to help you pursue the mystery of who I Am. I would never ask you to do anything that I have not done or am willing to do. Your heart is revealed to Me as you pursue Me. The only way I can know your heart is if you reveal it to me. This is why Faith Pleases me. I love a mystery and it is My glory to conceal man’s heart and my glory to search it out.”

God does not always use His foreknowledge, at least not all the time. He will choose relationship over His foreknowledge every time. He loves the spontaneity, the anticipation, the surprises of growing in intimacy with His children. I see His heart toward us so much clearer now. My understanding of His love has multiplied because of this simple truth.

Our heart is a mystery even to God Himself. He made it this way for His good pleasure. This may be the most profound thing I have discovered about His nature and His love. While thinking about the implications of this I realized that we have the ability to surprise God! That is nuts! While thinking about this He spoke to me again, and this blew me away even more!

“I gave you creativity so I could be surprised at how you love Me and serve Me with it.”

His people are so glorious and so precious in His sight that we have not even begun to understand. I am so humbled and so excited about this I can hardly contain myself!

It is our journey but it is His work, and it is a marvelous mystery!

Sin Distorts

The Lord woke me in the middle of the night and said, “get a pen and paper and write down everything I tell you.” I quietly rolled out of bed, not wanting to wake my wife, and did as He instructed.

As soon as I sat down the Lord began to speak to me about my life and ministry. After a page and a half of correction, instruction, and exhortation, the Lord made this final statement to me,

“Don’t let sin distort your reflection of Me. I will confirm this word with a sign following to seal it in your heart.”

Seven days later while starting my daily routine, I was taking a prayer walk around a nearby lake as the sun came up. As I was walking and fellowshipping with the Lord, He instructed me to go sit on a certain bench that was facing the lake. As I sat down on the bench and looked out across the lake, I was mesmerized by what I saw.

The lake was completely still, not a ripple or a wave of any kind. It was a perfect mirror. Being a fisherman, I have been on many bodies of water early in the morning and seen water so still that you almost didn’t want to touch it and disturb its stillness. This was something more than that.

As I looked across the lake I could see the shoreline on the other side. I saw the rich green grass rising from the edge of the water with huge Live Oaks on the other side topped off by a beautiful blue sky with a few puffy white clouds. As I looked at this scene, I saw that the reflection in the lake was a perfect mirror image of what I was seeing.

As I focused on the reflection in the water I realized that this reflected image is such a perfect representation of the real thing, that if I didn’t know this was a reflection from the lake I would not be able to tell the difference.

As I was having this thought, amazed at this perfect reflection, a tiny fish jumped in the middle of the lake, right in my line of sight. I sat and watched as the ripples from that tiny fish slowly spread over the entire lake, distorting that perfect reflection that I was admiring.

Then the Lord spoke, “Don’t let sin distort your reflection of Me.” This was the sign that sealed the things He spoke to me in my heart.

Truth Pressure

          tty

In the early 90’s I was just beginning to really get stirred up about God’s spoken Word, mainly because I was beginning to understand the principles behind it, and not just mindlessly reciting something that I had no understanding of.

I had an 8 page list of confessions from God’s Word that I would read out loud and declare over my life almost daily. I knew that saying what God said about me would help reinforce my identity in Christ and I was doing my best to grow into who He made me to be.

One morning, as I was making these declarations, the Lord spoke to me and asked, “What are you doing?” I was quiet for a few seconds and then answered, “well, ummmm… I am confessing your word Lord.” He replied, “You are applying Truth Pressure.” That was the end of that conversation.

That was a new term for me, a new concept. I knew that particular phrase was not in the bible, but to validate what the Lord had just spoken to me I knew I must find the principle in His Word. Any Word that you hear by the Spirit must line up with the written Word or it is not valid.

I knew that God’s Word had power, and I knew there was great power in the spoken word, but it wasn’t until I began to understand the grace of God that I saw what Truth Pressure meant and understood why confession works. So lets take a few moments to make sure we understand grace and how it is connected to what we say.  In the book of Ephesians, we see a wonderful truth concerning our speech.

Ephesians 4:29 ~ Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

This verse is talking about words, that minister grace to the hearer. Since we are always the first one to hear our words, I recommend we take a long look at what is coming from our lips. Is it corrupt or is it grace? Is it faith, or is it fear? Is it blessing or is it cursing? Does it edify or tear down? What kind of influence does our words have in our life?

What exactly is grace? The best definition that I have found is, “The divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life.” Grace is Gods way of working on you from the inside out. The word of God that is spoken, and heard, ministers to us on the inside in such a powerful way that it  transform us and changes our life.

Everything that God has prepared and provided for us, can be found in the truth of His word. Truth is full of grace, and grace is divine influence that brings transformation. We need to be speaking His word, if we are going to become what He has created us to be.vvtg

Job 22:28  ~ You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.

By declaring God’s word, we set ourselves in agreement with Him and establish a stronghold of truth about our identity in Christ. It enables the transforming power of God’s grace to mold and shape us into what He wants us to be, keeping us spinning on the potter’s wheel.

Hebrews 1:13,14 ~ But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Psalm 103:20 ~ Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.

We have angels assigned to our life. Their whole purpose is to minister on our behalf. When we give voice to God’s word, the angels take heed to it and get busy bringing that word to pass in our lives. I think it would be a tragedy to have a bunch of angels that are unemployed, twiddling their thumbs just waiting for us to speak life and grace that they might do what they are created to do. Let’s put them to work!

Let’s look at  Ephesians 29 again and we will add verses 30 and 31.

Ephesians 4:29-31 ~ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

In other words, if you are not speaking words that edify, ministering grace to those who hear them, including yourself, you are grieving the Holy Spirit. I know,………….OUCH!

The most frequent sins are sins of the mouth. How we control our mouth and how we bridle our tongue is a direct reflection on how mature we are spiritually. The truth is, if you sin with your mouth daily, you are but a child, regardless of how long you have been a Christian or how much knowledge of God’s word you have. It is not the word that you know that brings maturity, but the word that you DO.

James 3:2-4 ~ For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.trth ptsr

The word “perfect” in verse two simply means mature, or of full age. maturity is measured, in great part, by your mouth and how you control it. As we see in the above verse, our tongue is the steering wheel of our life. If we put our hands on the wheel, we can take control of our life and direct it down a path that leads to life, happiness and fulfillment. I think too many of us are driving down life’s road and saying, “Look Ma! No hands!” letting life speak louder than truth and allowing the facts of life to define us instead of the word of truth.

Proverbs 18:21 ~ Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The bible is very clear that our words have tremendous power. When it is God’s Word we are speaking, we have the power to minister His life and grace into the situation.

Confession of God’s Word applies “Truth Pressure” to your heart. God’s Word is filled with divine influence (grace) that feeds and strengthens your spirit man until it that truth shows up in your soul and body and is reflected in your life for all to see. Change will always come first in the heart before you see it manifest in the natural. Everything in the Kingdom of God starts in seed form, including God’s word. So make a decision to plant some seeds of life and grace in the garden of your heart today. YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Understanding the power of words.

untitled.pngsnhet

There are many teachings floating around about the power of words as defined by the Bible, but let’s look at it from the point of science, in conjunction with the Bible. Science is not in disagreement with God, on the contrary, science is just man’s way of figuring out how God does things. If we understand this going in, we will see that science and God must always agree. If they do not, then our science is incorrect, or our understanding of God is flawed.

Let’s start with some scriptures that stress the amazing power that words produce:

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

…Death and life are produced by our words.

Matthew 12:36-37 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

You will be justified or condemned by our words.

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

  …Words contain creative power.

Proverbs 13:3 He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

…We are to steward our words carefully.

James 3:2-6   For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

…Words set the course and nature or your life.

These are just a few scriptures that stress the power and importance of words, there are many, many more. The topic is replete throughout the Bible.

Words are the most powerful force available to humanity. They carry immeasurable significance and yet we have a shallow understanding of how they work, and how they affect the quality of our lives, and the lives of those around us. To find out at what words are, and how they function, first we must define exactly what a word is.

This is my definition from a literal standpoint, in the light God’s word:

A word is a verbal or written communication that carries ideas, creating thoughts and images. The very nature of the word shapes the image that it produces.”

If I say; “Black Labrador Retriever with a red collar,” I just put a specific image in your head. You took what I said, you processed it through your memory and experience, and it produced a specific thought/picture in your mind. It produced an image!

We must have a preconceived image already present in our thinking for images to form. Unfortunately, we have so much memory and experience of our fallen, carnal nature that these images tend to dominate our thought life and make up our minds in advance that this is who we really are. Jesus didn’t die for us to remain the same and someday go to heaven, He died so that we could be transformed into His IMAGE, so that God’s original purpose for mankind could be restored.

Romans 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Hebrews 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

We see in this verse that Jesus was not only the express image of God, but He upheld all things by His word. This means that, among other things, the image of the Father was upheld in Him by the power of His words.

The point of this teaching is to help you be conformed into what God has created you to be. What you say about yourself is important. Are you saying what God has said about you, or letting life speak louder than truth? What is your “self-image?”?Does it look like the sum of your life experience to this point, or does it look like Jesus? If you don’t see yourself as a son or daughter of God in your heart, you have the ability to change that image through the power of your words.
